LUXURY REIMAGINED: TDoS's FIRST FOUR SEASONS YACHT

TDoS developed the overall Design and Brand Manifesto for Four Seasons I, a 207-meter yacht that elevates the sailing experience through contemporary architecture inspired by luxury residences. The design concept, encapsulated in the iconic brief "Christina O meets James Bond," merges timeless elegance, a seamless connection with the ocean, and residential-style living. The vessel offers accommodations consisting of 95 expansive suites, highlighted by the exclusive, panoramic Funnel Suite located at the bow.

TDoS (Tillberg Design of Sweden), part of the Viken Group, revealed the story behind the inaugural vessel of high-end hospitality brand Four Seasons Yachts: the 207-meter-long Four Seasons I.

Set to embark on its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean in March 2026, the first vessel from Four Seasons Yachts sets a new standard for luxury hospitality at sea.

Working closely with Four Seasons and the project’s Italian shipbuilder, Fincantieri, from the earliest stages, TDoS developed the yacht’s overall Design and Brand Manifesto, shaping its exterior identity, master planning, suite designs, and the guest experience throughout the vessel.

In addition to the exterior architecture and general spatial planning, TDoS designed most of the spaces on board, including all guest suites, outdoor spaces, and the two-level transverse marina.

TIMELESS ELEGANCE AT SEA

Four Seasons I combines timeless elegance with contemporary naval architecture, guided by a design brief of "Christina O meets James Bond." Classic symmetry, refined details, and a strong private-yacht spirit meet floor-to-ceiling glazing, expansive terraces, and seamless connections to the sea.

MAXIMUM TRANSPARENCY

The construction of Four Seasons I was developed by engineers from TDoS and Fincantieri to maximize ocean and destination views from every space on board. This led to floor-to-ceiling windows providing nearly 360-degree glazing around the entire yacht.

From a naval architecture perspective, there are several other defining features. The 20-meter aft pool, featuring a adjustable-height floor, is both a central technical and experiential element, allowing the space to transform according to its use.

The two-level transverse marina establishes a direct relationship with the sea, while details such as hidden lifeboat covers ensure the exterior remains visually clean and uninterrupted. The canoe stern reinforces the classic silhouette, complemented by the curved glazing of the Funnel Suite and four-meter telescopic sliding doors in the forward and aft upper suites.

THE ICONIC FUNNEL SUITE

As one of the most iconic features of Four Seasons I, the Funnel Suite is positioned at the forward-facing bow, offering guests 270-degree panoramic ocean views.

As Viken Group co-founder Fredrik Johansson highlights: "The Funnel Suite required close integration between architecture and shipyard engineering. Its exceptional position within the yacht and elevator access from sea level also demanded a complex balance among structure, circulation, privacy, views, and guest experience."

SEA-CENTERED LIVING

Four Seasons I places the sea as its focal point. All suites on board face the ocean, featuring expansive glazing and planned layouts that create uninterrupted views throughout the yacht.

TDoS introduces a "Spine Concept," replacing traditional perimeter structuring with a central backbone. This innovation enables extensive floor-to-ceiling glazing and nearly 360-degree transparency across the yacht.

Furthermore, the use of a transverse marina further strengthens this connection to the water, where guests can swim, relax, and experience destinations in a more intimate and personal way.

HIGH-END RESIDENTIAL SUITES

The 95 expansive suites on board are closer in spirit to a coastal residence than to traditional ship accommodations. All beds are positioned to maximize guests' ocean views. In the signature suites, terraces are centered around private pools and generous sunbeds, while smaller details—such as a star constellation map engraved into stone coffee tables—add layers of discovery.

Guests can also combine suites via interconnecting doors. In the loft suites, double-height volumes extend both internally and out onto the terrace.
